My name is Elea Easton. I´m an actress and writer originally from the UK but now based in Madrid, Spain.
I first fell in love with performing when I was a teenager. I got the chance to perform in “Encore!” at the Norwich Theatre Royal and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat“ at the Maddermarket Theatre, Norwich. It petrified me, but I was hooked.
I studied Theatre Studies at Norwich City College where I discovered Stanislavski, Brecht, text analysis, and stagecraft. I then completed a degree in Drama, Film and TV at Brunel University focusing on theatre-making, site specific performance, directing, editing, and playwriting. After graduating, I trained at London Centre for Theatre Studies where I learnt about Laban Rhythms.
I moved to Spain in 2007 for my first paid acting gig with a touring theatre company and instantly fell in love with the country. I toured with Moving On Theatre Company and IPA Productions, performing in – Today Could Be Your Big Day (Bob), Robin Hood (Robin Hood), Little Red (Little Red Riding Hood),Tarzan (Jane/Puppeteer), Cinderella (Cinderella). During this period, I trained in on-camera acting at Cinema Room in Madrid and I landed a role in the indie feature Tea and Sangria.
I later returned to the UK to tour with Black Ram Theatre Company, appearing in – Playhouse Creatures (Mrs Marshall), Abigail’s Party (Angela), One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Nurse Flinn).
Seeking deeper training, I discovered Meisner at The Actor’s Temple in London, and in 2014 I moved to New York to train further on Meisner within the one-year conservatory at T. Schreiber Studio & Theatre. While in New York, I trained in Improv at Upright Citizen´s Brigade, Screenwriting at Blueprint Screenwriting Group, produced and performed at charity events, and took part in the Schreiber Shorts Festival for two years (in Shelley Berman’s No Soap (Betty), It’s Not About the Van (Amy)).
I discovered my passion for writing back in 2012 after creating and performing a number of comedy sketches. I later wrote and produced the web series Banging on the Brickwork, in which I played the role of Penny. I am currently revising a screenplay, The Dream of Living (WT), which I had started developing back in New York at Blueprint. I hope to submit to festivals sometime next year.
After nine years of living in New York, I felt the pull back to Spain and returned to Madrid in 2023. Wanting to act professionally in Spanish, I completed a year of acting training at Work in Progress (WIP), where I particularly valued the classes on Chekhov technique, Voice, and Personal Marketing. I now continue working weekly with a voice coach to refine my Spanish accent as I build my career here in Madrid.
I’m excited for this next chapter and look forward to collaborating with you.
